Swansea Gower Sportive sunday 7th April 2019

This early season Ride gives you the opportunity to explore the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty that is the Gower Peninsula.

With most holiday visitors yet to arrive you have the opportunity to experience the full range of scenery the Gower has to offer – from world class beaches and country lanes through to the exposed moorland of Cefn Bryn and Welsh Moor.

Following a successful first year we have expanded the capacity from 300 to 500 but have kept the entry fee to £25.00. You will receive all the support that you would expect on an organised sportive including a warm meal at the halfway point.

We are delighted to be working with Cycle Solutions – the UK’s largest independent cycle to work scheme provider who are based in Swansea. They also have a retail store based in the Uplands area of the city near the gateway to the Gower Peninsula.

Our start and finish area moves to one of Gower’s iconic landmarks – Mumbles Pier. The Pier originally opened in 1898 and is steeped in history. From the indoor cafe with panoramic views across Swansea Bay to the famous amusement arcade it is an ideal venue for us to start and finish and a great meeting point for friends and family once the ride is completed.

We believe that the scenery should be truly appreciated on this Ride and so there will be no prizes for the first home. Cefn Bryn is the highest point on the Gower Peninsula and we will be running a Strava based challenge for the King and Queen of the Bryn.

With a summer of cycling ahead this Ride is an ideal opportunity for early season time in the saddle.
